24 Aug 2015 by Wembley Magpies

The Wembley Amateur Football Club had a mixed day on the 22nd of August recording two wins from four matches.

B Reserves: Wembley 3-7-25 defeated by Whitford 9-13-67.

Courtesy of finishing second after the regular season the Seconds will have a chance to make amends this week despite going down by 42-points in the Qualifying Final. The Seconds this week will travel to Wanneroo Showgrounds for Semi Final 1 and take on Swan Athletic in a do-or-die match.

B Grade: Wembley 20-8-128 defeated Wanneroo 8-10-58.

After only managing to sneak into second spot on the final weekend of the season the Firsts were able to make this home ground advantage count by thumping Wanneroo by 70 points. The Firsts this week will head to Millington Reserve to take on Scarborough with the winner going straight through to the grand final and qualifying for A Grade in 2016 at the same time.

D2 Reserves: Wembley 17-6-108 defeated Wanneroo 3-1-19.

The Fourths capped their undefeated regular season by knocking off Wanneroo by 89 points in the final round. The Fourths now finish the regular season 16-0 with a percentage of 651.2% and now head into a three-week finals series. This weekend the side takes on Hamersley Carine with the winner moving straight through to the grand final.

D2 Grade: Wembley 5-10-40 defeated by Wanneroo 11-6-72.

The Thirds 32-point loss did not have any impact on the final ladder positions with the Thirds having already locked away second spot and a double chance come week one of the finals. The Thirds will be looking to turn around this disappointing result and two narrow losses to Whitford when they take them on in the Qualifying Final this week.
